KEY OBJECTIVES
The media industry is rapidly evolving, encompassing traditional outlets such as television and print media, as well as digital platforms like social media and online news websites. The industry has been disrupted by the rise of digital technologies, which have given rise to new business models, distribution channels, and content formats.
As Singapore’s national media network, Mediacorp sees the importance for them to stay attuned to shifting audience preferences and technological trends, in particular the rise of video consumption and e-commerce. THE SOLUTION
Mediacorp became the first broadcaster in Singapore to offer Live Commerce to their viewers. Using BeLive’s Enterprise whitelabel solution, they deployed the live commerce capabilities on MeWatch’s live streaming channel, Live+. Mediacorp’s live commerce show, The Wondershop, allows people to chat in real-time and participate in games and product giveaways. In addition to the livestream capabilities, The Wondershop also deployed shoppable and interactive videos on their e-commerce site to showcase product features, leading to an increase in retention and conversion.
The weekly livestreams are hosted by celebrities and influencers who showcase products, chat with the audience in real time and run giveaways with custom built interactive features.
